Time for a fresh perspective!

The Port of Tacoma is the economic heart of Pierce County.  Between contributing nearly $3 billion in annual economic activity and supporting more than 42,000 jobs, the Port plays a vital and strategic role for our region. 

We can’t risk the Port becoming stagnant or mired in old ideas.  That’s why having people with fresh, qualified perspectives elected to the Port’s Commission is essential for the Port’s economic strength and ability to adapt to market changes.   

I have decades of business education and economic expertise that will significantly contribute to growing the Port’s economic strength.  The combination of my years of teaching business and marketing, I have refined my business and communication skills by actively serving on the Washington DECA Board, the Washington Educators of Business and Marketing Board, and the Pierce County Central Labor Council. 

As we grow the Port, we must do so strategically and responsibly.  I intend to critically evaluate expenditures to ensure responsible spending of our taxpayer dollars and assist with budget management to allocate the Port’s resources efficiently.  In addition, I will help design a strategic marketing plan that will promote the Port’s offerings, attract new business, and enhance its visibility. 

With my knowledge and fresh perspective, I’ll make sure the Port remains economically strong and adaptable to market changes.
